Our story
Solid wood furniture. Our own factory. A personal connection to the people who make it.
Tapple Tree brings together a passion for furniture, a connection to Jodhpur and the everyday work of making. We create made-to-order solid mango wood furniture and sell it directly to homes in India and overseas.

Furniture is personal to me.
I’m Varun Sharma. My passion for furniture is at the heart of Tapple Tree. I care about the piece as a whole: the character of its wood, the way it feels to use and the place it will have in someone’s home.
What draws me to this work is the transformation. A wooden board becomes a table that brings a room together, a chest that gives treasured things a place, or a coffee table that makes everyday living a little easier.
Tapple Tree is a way to bring that connection closer to you. You can see where the furniture is made, understand the work behind it and speak directly with us about your piece.
Rooted in a culture of making.
Furniture making connects generations through skill, patience and respect for materials. That sense of continuity matters to us. Our work is rooted in Jodhpur and in a culture that values the people and knowledge behind a finished piece.
We bring that outlook into furniture for today’s homes. Familiar materials meet practical ideas: hidden storage, useful proportions and finishes that give the wood its place in a room. Our aim is simple—to make pieces you enjoy living with and caring for over time.
Inside our workshop.
These are photographs from our manufacturing process. Machinery, hands-on surface preparation and finishing all have a part to play before furniture leaves our factory.

01 · From timber to components
Furniture starts taking shape well before the final assembly. Cutting and machining turn timber and panels into the components that a design needs.
Our workshop combines machinery with the work of the people operating it. The photographs show this practical side of furniture making: boards, equipment and the team behind the finished form.

02 · Taking time over the surface
Sanding is an important part of how a piece looks and feels. Surfaces are prepared before finishing, with attention to the areas that hands will touch in daily use.
This stage connects machine work with hands-on preparation. The finished colour comes later; the surface beneath it needs attention first.

03 · Bringing the finish to life
Polishing and spray finishing give furniture its final surface and appearance. Our collection includes teak, walnut and black finishes on solid mango wood, with the available finish shown on each product page.
Teak and walnut describe these finishes, rather than the wood species. The underlying material in this collection is mango wood. Its natural grain means individual pieces can vary in appearance.

04 · Checking before it leaves us
Moisture checking forms part of our preparation before dispatch. The photograph shows a meter being used on a wooden piece in the workshop.
Solid wood responds to its surroundings, so moisture deserves attention alongside appearance. A reading belongs to the piece and the conditions at the time of checking; it is not a fixed value for every item.
Our materials and care page explains more about living with solid wood furniture.

A person behind the name.
Alongside the workshop photographs, I wanted to share a little of myself. Tapple Tree is personal to me, and I want the experience of buying from us to feel personal to you too.
If you have a question about the wood, a finish or delivery, you can get in touch with us directly. That conversation is part of what factory-direct furniture should offer: a clearer connection between the home a piece is going to and the people making it.
